Few highlights from the episode

I sit down with the insightful Prashant Pole to explore the stark contrast between the well-preserved artefacts and archives in Rome, such as the letters written by Michelangelo, and the subcontinent's oral history tradition. Discover how cultural differences and daily life impact historical preservation in various regions.

The conversation takes an intriguing turn as we discuss the concept of public space and the role it plays in our lives. Are museums simply exclusive destinations, or should they be an integral part of the fabric of a town or city? Prashant shares his thoughts on how museums can integrate with public spaces, allowing artefacts and interventions to become part of daily life.

We also delve into the challenges facing traditional crafts and craftsmanship in a rapidly changing world. How can designers collaborate with skilled craftspeople to evolve traditional crafts and create innovative, sustainable products? We explore the symbiotic relationship between design and craftsmanship. Moreover, we discuss the importance of creating multi-sensory experiences in museums, where visitors can immerse themselves in the history, culture, and stories behind the artefacts.

Discover how these experiences foster a deeper connection with the objects on display. If you have ever felt overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information in museums, this episode is for you. Prashant explores the concept of "visual fatigue" and shares captivating insights about how museums can be designed to combat this issue.

Uncover the secrets of creating successful museum experiences that leave visitors feeling inspired and enriched. As always, I’ve strived to bring you thought-provoking content that sparks conversation and expands horizons.
